Every way of installing the visitor toolbar ends in the same thing: one script tag on each page of your site, carrying your site key. A plugin or a module only puts it there for you.
- Copy your site key from the dashboard.
- Paste the snippet before the closing
</body>tag of every page, or let a plugin do it. - Switch the toolbar on in the dashboard and check that the button appears.
The snippet
Paste it before the closing </body> tag of every page — in the template your pages share, so that it is there exactly once per page. Replace YOUR-SITE-KEY with your key.
<script src="https://reviseberg.com/widget/v1.js" data-site-key="YOUR-SITE-KEY" defer></script>
Because of defer, it may also go in <head>; it never holds up your page. If it is on a page twice, the second copy does nothing.
Where to find your site key
In the Reviseberg dashboard, open Settings › Visitor toolbar, on the Install tab. The snippet there already has your key in it — copy that one. Each site has its own key, and the key starts with rbt_.
On the same screen you switch the toolbar on, and list the addresses it may answer on. Your site's own address always may; add a staging or preview address there before you test on it.
If your site has a Content Security Policy
A site that sends a Content Security Policy needs to allow the toolbar's script, its requests and its font, and images from data: addresses. Add these to the directives you already have:
script-src https://reviseberg.com;
connect-src https://reviseberg.com;
font-src https://reviseberg.com;
img-src data:;
style-src needs nothing: the toolbar's styles are constructable stylesheets. Trusted Types are fine too, because the toolbar assigns nothing as HTML.
Check that it works
- Open a page of your site in a private window — not in your platform's editor or preview, where most plugins leave the tag out on purpose.
- View the page source, or search the developer tools' Elements panel, for
widget/v1.js. There should be exactly one tag, with your key. - The button appears once the toolbar is switched on in the dashboard, and the dashboard's "Last seen on your site" says when the tag last loaded on one of your pages.
- No button? The browser console has a line beginning "Reviseberg toolbar:" that says why — a key with the wrong shape, for example.
- Our own crawler never loads the toolbar, so a Reviseberg scan will not show it. That is on purpose: a scan measures your site, not the toolbar.
Platforms
There is a guide for each platform below. For 21 of them we have a plugin, module, extension, template or package that adds the tag for you; you download it from its guide. Nothing is listed in any platform's store yet. Apps for Shopify, BigCommerce, Webflow, Wix and Square Online are built but not in those stores, so their guides show the manual route until they are. Everything else is a code field the platform already has, and the guide says where it is.

Removing it
Take the tag out, or switch the plugin off. To stop the toolbar everywhere at once without touching your site, switch it off in the dashboard: the tag then loads and shows nothing.
